Joe Sullivan

Joe is the CEO of Joe Sullivan Security LLC, where he advises companies of all sizes, leads security consulting projects, and mentors security leaders. He is also a Venture Partner at Costanoa Ventures, where he helps on investing strategy and backing early-stage cybersecurity companies. Joe serves as an advisor to Acalvio, a cybersecurity company specializing in deception technology. In addition, he is the CEO of Ukraine Friends, a nonprofit organization providing humanitarian aid to children striving to learn and grow in a war zone. Joe was the first federal prosecutor based in Silicon Valley dedicated full-time to prosecuting cybercrime and worked on safety and security at eBay and PayPal before serving as Chief Security Officer at Facebook (2008-2015), Uber (2015-2017), and Cloudflare (2018-2022). Over the years, he has advised companies ranging from Airbnb to DoorDash, and in 2016, he accepted an appointment from President Obama to serve on the independent, bipartisan Commission on Enhancing National Cybersecurity.
